Jacky retired from the NHS in 2003 and set up her own coaching company with no commercial background and a very hazy idea of how to go about networking. Feeling de-skilled she became a client of Asentiv, and transformed her own business using their techniques .
She then bought into the company and utilising her unique combination of mentoring and coaching plus Asentiv’s referral marketing techniques she has helped hundreds of companies in the area to achieve their business aspirations. As a result she has a diverse range of contacts across most industries based in the areas. If she is not able to access someone you want to meet she probably knows someone who can help you.
This year (2021) she is semi-retiring and is able to bring her knowledge, skills and experience to bear in helping businesses address their contribution to the environmental agenda .
She joined the Green Business Network as a member, quite quickly became a Trustee and is proud to be taking the leadership role as Chair. What she specifically brings to the table is that network and her breath of experience to bring together businesses and enabling them to work together to build better businesses than they could on their own.
Her favourite quote sums up her belief in how humans can achieve the impossible.
“In the long history of humankind, those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed” Charles Darwin The Origin of Species.
“Why I joined GBN?
We are living in the most critical decade for the planet. If we haven’t reduced CO2 emissions by at least 50% by the end of the decade the future looks bleak. Governments alone can’t make this happen. Business plays a vital role in helping transform communities and societies – not only by providing purposeful activity for people, but also by showing how we can live with minimal environmental impact and to shape the space around them.
Where else would you start that change, if not in your own local business community.”
“Recently retired as a town planner, my interest and commitment to putting sustainability at the top of the business agenda continues. This was the role I took on in the planning and urban design consultancy business I worked for where the GBN provided inspiration and motivation to achieve more sustainable business practices.
On retirement it was a natural progression to become a Trustee of the GBN to continue to play a part to carry on engagement with the business community to promote sustainable good practice and innovation.”
“I am the HSEQ Manger for Alpheus Environmental with over 30 years’ experience in the Water and Waste Water Industry. Alpheus was among the first members of the GBN and my colleagues and I have been attending the seminars and events since then to help us stay up to date and current with the emerging environmental agenda. When I was invited to become a trustee I had no hesitation in accepting and I hope that by being an ambassador in this role, I can help others drive environmental sustainability in their businesses.”
