Plastic use in supermarkets rises

The Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) has reported that plastic packaging produced by the UK’s supermarkets has risen to more than 900,000 tonnes a year.

Seven out of the top ten supermarkets increased their plastic output. Waitrose and Morrisons were the best performers in cutting plastic, while Asda and Aldi were some of the worse.
